Don't know where to start?

Here are some hints and tips

  • Many of the writers have extracts available on http://www.harpercollins.com.au/book/browseinsidemain.aspx or http://browseinside.harpercollins.co.uk. Use the 'Browse inside ' feature. Look for clues in the text. See if you recognise the way the writer uses syntax, adjectives, verbs or tenses. Look for   similarities between the extracts from the books and the stories.
  • Many of the writers have written for newspapers and magazines at some point in their careers. Try googling the author's name to find any articles they have written.
  • What are the themes in the stories? Are they themes that are reccurent throughout a particular author 's work?
  • Are there any biographical details that might be drawn from the authors' lives? (But beware of red herrings!)
  • Some of the pieces have UK spellings, whilst others have American. Could these be clues?
